Willowbank Raceway -

Excitement building at Willowbank Raceway

From the ever-popular sights and sounds of Nostalgia drag racing, and the quarter-century celebrations for the country’s largest automotive lifestyle event, to 60,000 horses of outlaw nitro funny car power – action aplenty is guaranteed at Willowbank Raceway over the coming months.

Sunday August 9 will see hundreds of amazing machines of yesteryear on both two and four wheels descend on the Raceway, with on-track action accompanied by off-track entertainment including theShannons Insurance Show and Shine, trade stalls and more to deliver plenty of colour, action and retro ‘awesomeness’ to keep the whole family entertained. Admission is just $25.00 for adults ($20.00 for students with ID) and children aged 13 and under gain FREE admission.

Just weeks later, Australia’s largest automotive lifestyle event – the Brisbane Jamboree – will come to town, celebrating 25 years of world-beating performances and heart-stopping action across one huge day and night on Saturday August 29. An annual must-see at Willowbank Raceway, the Brisbane Jamboree serves up everything from on-track racing to drift exhibitions, car club meets, competitions, the Just Car Show ‘n’ Shine, trade stands and more. Entry for spectators is $30.00 for adults ($40.00 with grandstand access) and $25.00 for students with ID ($35.00 with grandstand access) while children aged 13 and under gain FREE entry.

September will then get off to a rocking start when 60,000 horses of flame-throwing, nitro-burning action come to the Raceway for the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars event on September 12. Presented by Donnelly Blasting Services, the AONFC will bring the largest ever field of outlaw nitro cars to the Willowbank Raceway quarter-mile in an extravaganza that is not to be missed! The fight will be on for not only wins, but also state bragging rights as the racers and their impressive machines – including Nitro Express, The General, Dark Horse, Stormtrooper and Bumble Bee – go head to head, supported by a full show of racing and action on and off the track.

Spectator entry for the AONFC is just $30.00 for adults ($25.00 for pension and students with ID card holders), and as always children aged 13 and under are admitted FREE of charge. In an extra bonus, as this great event is being held on the evening of the annual Powercruise event being held next door at Queensland Raceway, ticket holders for that event will gain entry to the AONFC show at concession prices – seeing the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct putting on an amazing line-up all day and all night on September 12.
