WILLOWBANK RACEWAY SUSPENDS RACING ACTIVITIES

Last night the Willowbank Raceway Board met to discuss the situation around the Coronavirus.

In an effort to protect the health and wellbeing of patrons, volunteers and staff, it was agreed that due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Board would reluctantly suspend all racing activities at the facility until further notice. This decision was validated later that evening with the government announcing new measures around social gathering that force the closure of the venue at this time.

Unfortunately, these new measures will include the Test ‘n Tune, Diesel Assault, Racer Test Day, Street Series and Qld Drag Racing Championships round planned for the coming weeks. Racers who have nominated to take part in these events will receive a communication shortly.

Willowbank Raceway is totally committed to resuming racing activities as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

In the meantime, we are working towards the best outcome for all stakeholders including sponsors, racers and patrons, examining all options before us regarding what may happen through 2020.

Further announcements will be made over coming days and we ask everyone to be patient as we work through these issues. We thank you for your ongoing support. Most importantly, please stay safe and look after each other.
