Willowbank and Apprenticeships QLD Recognise Apprentices

Willowbank Raceway was pleased to recently honour a number of up and coming apprentices, in conjunction with Apprenticeships Queensland.

As part of a growing relationship with Apprenticeships Queensland, the Raceway was a Silver sponsor for the 2015 Apprenticeship Queensland Awards Night – presented by the Queensland Times.

The venue – Queensland’s premier drag racing facility – was also a sponsoring partner for the Encouragement Awards and SunSuper Achievement Awards - the most hotly contested awards of the evening, recognising construction industry apprenticeships across carpentry, plumbing, electrical and many other construction-related trades.

Raceway representatives Tony Manson (CEO), Tracey Fletcher (Racing Manager), Wade Powell (Events and Facility Supervisor) and Kerryn Costello (Sales and Marketing Manager) were all on-hand at the Awards evening – held at the North Ipswich Reserve Corporate centre – and presented gifts to the Willowbank Raceway-sponsored award recipients.

Willowbank Raceway would like to congratulate all those recognised during the awards evening, and especially those who took home the Willowbank Raceway-supported awards:

·         Encouragement Award – Angus Lambert of Yamanto – Tiler, George Ferrier Tiling

·         Encouragement Award – Luke Tammi of Cannon Hill – Carpenter, Remcom

“Willowbank Raceway is so pleased to be able to play a part in the recognition of these apprentices as they seek to grow their skills into a new and rewarding career,” said Manson.

“Our venue enjoys a strong relationship with Apprenticeships Queensland and often employs their apprentices for a range of tasks in and around the track. We look forward to our relationships continuing to grow with this important provider of services.”
