Welcome to the new look of our monthly e-newsletter. As fans, racers and officials, you’ll be seeing this monthly with plenty of relevant information for you about what is happening at Willowbank Raceway. As many of you would know, along with other tracks, we’ve announced a new Group 1 series to kick off later this year with the first Willowbank event as part of this series in 2016. There’ll be plenty of information about this series coming out shortly but we’re very excited about it and the positive steps forward that it represents for our sport. Sportsman racers haven’t been forgotten and there’ll be some exciting news soon on how Sportsman racing will be integrated into this series.
We have a large number of events coming up during the next few months with plenty of opportunity to spectate, race or officiate in great events, no matter where your interests lie. Mopar Sunday, the All Ford Day, Nostalgia Drags, Jamboree and the Aeroflow Nitro Funny Cars all offer great opportunities to enjoy Willowbank Raceway in a variety of different ways. On top of that we have rounds of the Queensland Drag Racing Championships coming up, rounds of our popular Street Series, Racer Test Days and Test ’n Tunes on a variety of Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
In case you missed it, we ran two Lights Out, Grudge Racing events within existing Test ’n Tunes in recent weeks. These generated a great atmosphere, close racing and an opportunity to get right up close to the action for spectators. There’ll be more of these coming up, keep on the lookout for more information – these events present a different way to enjoy our track and our sport.
