FUCHS WINTERNATIONALS WINS TOURISM AWARD

The 2015 Fuchs Winternationals has been awarded the Ipswich Turf Club Tourism/Event of the Year Award at the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Awards at the weekend. 

Willowbank Raceway and the Fuchs Winternationals were one of three finalists in the running for the award, alongside the Ipswich Art Awards and Pterodactyl Helicopters.

It was the third time the event had been listed as a finalist (2013, 2014 and 2015) and the second time it was awarded as the winner (2014, 2015).

Willowbank Raceway Board member Paul Casos accepted the award on behalf of the facility at a black tie gala event held at the Ipswich Civic Centre.

“What an honour it is to be recognised by such an important local institution,” said Casos.

“The Ipswich Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Awards is a prestigious event and we are very humbled to be a two-time winner of the Ipswich Turf Club Tourism/Event of the Year.

“I must send my sincere thanks on behalf of the Willowbank Raceway Management Committee not only to the judging panel and the Chamber, but also to our staff, officials, racers, spectators, suppliers, sponsors and everyone else involved in the Fuchs Winternationals – this award is a true testament to your dedication, hard work and ongoing support.

“I would also like to send my congratulations to the other finalists, it has been a great honour to stand alongside them in the running for this award and their contributions to the Ipswich community are undeniable.”
