2008/2009 South Qld Australian Champs

Racers from the South Queensland Division of the Australian National Drag Racing Association claimed seven titles at the 2009 Winternationals, which is the season decider for all Australian championships. There were two Group One titles, one Group Two and four Group Three championships. The record for the Division is nine winners in 2004.

The South Queensland Division won its 23nd ANDRA Shield and retained the Pro Cup, making a total of 18 wins in that category.

The John Storm Memorial Trophy also went to a South Queenslander, for a record 13th time. Modified Bike's Jason Hammelswang travelled widely during the season and ended up with a 60-point margin from second-placed Steven Fowler.

Here is a tribute to the South Queensland Division competitors who have reached the pinnacle of their eliminator nationally through excellence in drag racing.
