MEET THE PRO DRAG RACING STARS AT RIVERLINK THIS THURSDAY

Drag racing fans will have the chance to meet some of the stars of the Castrol EDGE Winternationals this Thursday night at Riverlink Shopping Centre, with a special fan night to take place in the foodcourt at 6.30pm.
The official Castrol EDGE Winternationals event will see ANDRA Pro Series drivers from all of the professional categories - including names such as Victor and Ben Bray, Phil Read, Gary Phillips, Aaron and Tyronne Tremayne, Michael Gilbertson and Chris Matheson - available to sign autographs, and fans can also take the chance to check out Steve Reed’s Top Alcohol Funny Car which is currently on display in the centre.
While they do so, the Brisbane Tigers Cheerleading Squad will provide the opening entertainment before event MC’s Dean and Chad from the ANDRA Pro Series television programs on One HD and Paul Casos, Vice-President of Willowbank Raceway, regale the fans with stories of drag racing and give away prizes.
Willowbank Raceway Managing Director Steve Bettes said the event was not one to be missed for any drag racing fan.
“Thursday night at Riverlink Shopping Centre is going to provide a unique opportunity for the fans to get up close and personal with some of their ANDRA Pro Series heroes for a quick chat and a autograph away from the race track,” said Bettes.
“Riverlink Shopping Centre, the Ipswich Events Corporation, Castrol EDGE and Willowbank Raceway are all very proud to be able to provide this opportunity, which will be held as the Castrol EDGE Winternationals kick off at Willowbank Raceway.
“From Friday the Pro Series racers will be on track fighting it out for the Gold Christmas Tree and Winternationals glory, so I really urge anyone who is interested in drag racing to take the chance to come on down and wish them luck on Thursday night.”
The Castrol EDGE Winternationals fan night will kick off at 6.30pm on Thursday June 10 at Riverlink Shopping Centre on the foodcourt stage.
The Castrol EDGE Winternationals will host in excess of 480 racers over the June 10-13 event, including 85 from the professional categories.
The Thursday June 10 to Sunday June 13 event will host the championship ANDRA Pro Series final rounds for Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock, Morgan & Wacker Top Bike and Morgan & Wacker Pro Stock Bike as well as final championship rounds for all of the sportsman brackets.
