SPORTSMAN RACERS READY FOR WILLOWBANK RACEWAY THRILLS AT THIS SATURDAY MAY 19th SPORTSMAN EVENT

17 May 2012

Racers from all over QLD are expected to front up for this weekend’s sixth round of the Willowbank Raceway Track Championship, which is also a great testing opportunity for the upcoming Rocket Allstars Racing Series (RARS ) national points round at the FUCHS Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in June.

Racers from Super Comp, Competition Bike, Allstar Batteries Supercharged Outlaws, Knijff Earthmoving Modified, Powercruise Super Sedan, Prime Signs/Speed Elec Super Street, Modified Bike, Donnelly Blasting Services Junior Dragster and Super Gas will all come together in the pursuit of the prestigious Track Champion mantle.

Willowbank Raceway Managing Director Steve Bettes said the spectators are guaranteed to see some passionate racing as the championship point races heat up.

“As we head into the very serious end of the 2011/2012 racing season, our local racers are honing their skills and sharpening their gaze for the final round of the RARS national points chase and the closing rounds of the track championship,” said Bettes.

“Both the national sportsman title and our own track championship mantle are coveted in the sportsman ranks, and that means exciting, edge of your seat racing is guaranteed.”

Gates will open at 7am, with qualifying from 9am before racing kicks off from 2pm. Children 13 and under gain free entry, while adult tickets are just $20 (students with ID are just $18).
